These artfully carved squash products were in the produce section at a Monoprix on Boulevard de l'Hôpital in the 13th. I have to say that I was a little taken aback to find something so pretty and decorative just sitting there, with no fanfare, in a local outpost of a major supermarket (and everythingmarket) chain. Just wanted to put that out there and ask, in the immortal words of Dr. Gordon, my AP Calculus teacher:What's going on here?
Would this everever happen in the U.S.? Who's the artist and what is (s)he doing sequestered in a Monoprix in rainy December Paris when (s)he clearly belongs on a sunny cruise ship deck in the Caribbean, fashioning admirable edibles and getting a tan?
I'm trying to come up with something intelligent to say, but seriously have nothing. You're right, if this artist is an employee of Monoprix, hopefully he or she is only working there to supplement his or her income from artistic endeavors until The Queen Mary calls and says "one would be very happy to have your designs aboard ones cruiseship."
